3 Unique Engagement Photo Locations in Downtown Toronto

Sometimes finding the right engagement session location in Toronto can be tough! Of course you don’t want the photos to look similar to what you are seeing on your instagram or pinterest feed. This guide will show you 3 locations that give a unique look in downtown Toronto.

  1. Trillium Park

Trillium Park is one of my favourite locations to shoot engagement photos in because it provides so much variety, as well as a great view of the Toronto waterfront and skyline. It’s one of those “hidden” gems in the city that people don’t talk about enough. There’s a bunch of other parks that are great, but in my opinion, nothing that gives you the features that Trillium does. It’s tucked away from lakeshore boulevard, and has great parking access, which is not very common in a city like Toronto!

Part of Ontario Place, it’s located close to the Canadian National Exhibition Grounds, Budweiser Stage, and many other downtown Toronto locations. I like it because it really is in the heart of the downtown area.

It’s located at 955 Lake Shore Blvd W, Toronto, ON M6K 3B9

Turning one way, you look into more of a nature area with trees, etc

It also has an area with this nice architecture structure

On top of that, you get stunning views of the Toronto skyline !!

2. Cherry Beach (but not on the beach?)

Cherry Beach is a hugely popular beach in Toronto, but many people don’t realize that there’s a great area for shooting that isn’t on the water. This area that I’m talking about inside the off leash dog park! Once you are in the parking lot, instead of going directly onto the beach, head west instead, and you’ll find a fenced entrance to the dog park.

It’s located in the Port Lands area, in the east end of downtown. You can take the Lakeshore Blvd exit of the Don Valley Parkway and it’s a couple minute drive from there.

You may even encounter a furry friend during your session!

3. Corktown Common Park

Corktown Common is a relatively unknown place to shoot engagement photos, but it does offer variety and is easily accessible. I had a couple interested in shooting in an area that had a long grassy field, and this little gem of an area certainly has that!  I would advise to scout this location out first before you go there, sometimes the city decides to cut the grass really low, but you want to make sure it’s grown out :)

It’s located at: 155 Bayview Ave, Toronto, ON M5A 0G4

When you go into the park of the park , and through the trees, you’ll come out to an area close to the DVP. It connects to the bike trails, however just before that you have a grassy area. It has some of that more yellow/straw grass type of look with some flowers that you can incorporate in your shots.
