Jamaica Destination Wedding Photography and Videography

Jamaica is a special place. The scenery is beautiful, the people are nice and the food is yummmmy! Seriously though, a great place for a destination wedding. When I had the opportunity to travel to Ocho Rios to film a wedding, I jumped at the opportunity. My friends Christine and Mark invited me to capture their special day and spend a week with their friends and family.

Here’s my approach to capturing destination weddings:

1) Explore and Observe

• When I’m shooting in a new place or a new destination, I start off my planning process by walking around taking in the scenes, the beaches, the palm trees, and breathing in that fresh clean air. I look for interesting areas of the resort or location to capture establishing clips, that allows me to set the scene of your wedding film. Depending on the weather and timeline of the wedding day, I will shoot some clips of the location a few days early (if possible) to make sure I have that. I aim for getting a great sunrise and aso a great sunset that I can always use to make a creative edit.

2) Make friends and get to know people

• Usually at a destination wedding, you are spending a number of days with the friends and family. This allows me to get to know the people you have invited , and why they are special to you. This pays off on the wedding day when they see me with the camera, as they are already comfortable with me, and can joke around and laugh freely.

3) Provide an unforgettable experience

• Not only will I capture your wedding day, but I also want to add some elements of your trip to the film. You may be going on a hike with your crew, or having a party in the pool. Adding these videos to your film, will add an special touch. I’ll also look over your wedding timeline, add in comments or suggestions when I can to make the day go as smoothly as possible.

4) Work my butt off

• I’m a hard worker, and I’ll go above and beyond for you to make your wedding video the best it can be.
